Homemade Taco Seasoning

Homemade taco seasoning can be used in so many recipes. I like to make my own taco seasoning for couple of reasons; it’s cheaper and I know exactly what is going into it.

I played around with this recipe and found a combination, and ratio, of spices that we really love. It has enough spice to it, but it’s not too spicy. My family likes things on the milder side. In this recipe, I always leave the cayenne pepper out, but feel free to add as much cayenne pepper as you like. Also, if you don’t have ground oregano, you can used dried. We just prefer ground.

If your house is anything like my house, this homemade taco seasoning won’t last long.  We make tacos, or something that requires taco seasoning, probably once a week.

This stores forever.  Okay, maybe not forever. I mean, spices never really go bad, they just lose their strength and spiciness after a few years.  I like to store my spices in these pyrex storage containers .
