Flavorful Chicken Gravy

Description

This is a simple and delicious chicken gravy recipe.  It can easily be changed into any type of gravy you want by using drippings from a whole turkey, beef roast or pork roast. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 tablespoons unbleached all purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups chicken drippings, can substitute chicken broth or drippings from a turkey, beef roast or pork roast.
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning, leave this out if making beef or pork gravy

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.
  2. Add flour and cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Slowly add drippings, or canned broth, while whisking constantly.
  4. Add salt, pepper and poultry seasoning.  
  5. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, while whisking often, until your desired consistency.
