Healthier Caramel Puff Corn

Description

This healthier caramel puff corn is so good.  It is so yummy you won’t be able to stop eating it. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 oz) bag puff corn
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup maple sugar, you can substitute brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Pour puff corn on cookie sheet.
  3. Mix butter, sea salt, maple syrup and sugar in a pot. Bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, then add the vanilla. Boil for 1 more minute.melting butter and sugar for healthier caramel puff corn
  4. Remove from heat and add baking soda. This will make the caramel foam.
  5. Pour over puff corn immediately and stir to coat.
  6. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Put a couple sheets of parchment paper on the counter and then dump the puff corn onto them. Let it cool. Store in an air tight container. You won’t need to store it for long because you won’t be able to stop eating it.
